The Image Sorter is a simple utility to help control the order in which your images are applied to the other utilities in the action.  When dragging and dropping large numbers of images onto an Action, it can be unclear what order your images will be processed.  The Image Sorter utility provides several options for controlling that order.  For example, when renaming images and using the Saver's serial number function, you may want the numbers to be applied to the Namer utility in chronological order.  By sorting the images before they are passed to the Saver you can guarantee that they will be numbers in the correct order.
 

The current version of Image Sorter is very simple.  It will sort the images by File Name, File Creation Date, or File Modification Date.  Choose a sorting criteria and optionally check the Reverse Order checkbox.  All the images from a given drag and drop event will be considered (and sorted) together regardless of what directory they come from.
