See how easy it is to email pictures using PhotoFramer |
Pixlabs PhotoFramer is an easy-to-use program that quickly and easily renders high-quality, photorealistic, double matted frames around your digital pictures. A frame provides a context that changes what we see in a picture. It has been said that when a frame is put around an everyday scene, it becomes art. PhotoFramer makes it easy to add that professional look that transforms your snapshots into works of art.
PhotoFramer gives your
pictures a professionally framed look for email or website and saves you money when
creating framed prints.
PhotoFramer uses
complex graphic rendering algorithms to create photorealistic frames and mats
while giving unmatched flexibility in choices of colors, sizes and textures.
The proper choice of colors for mats and frames greatly affects how a framed image looks. PhotoFramer uses a proprietary scheme to suggest colors based on the contents of the image, however, the creative user can always choose colors directly from the picture or create custom colors to create the desired accent.
The result is stunningly high-quality frames and
mats that look like the real
thing. PhotoFramer can read JPEG, TIF
and many other formats of digital images. The resulting, framed images can
be saved as a JPEG, emailed or printed.

PhotoFramer is designed to be simple, but powerful and produce stunning results. Choose Open from the File menu, select a photo from your hard drive, click OK and you will instantly see your first framed picture!
Want to change styles? Select a different style from the Style menu and the frame around your picture is immediately updated.
Want to change the color of the mats? Simply choose Suggest Mat Colors from the Color menu and PhotoFramer will color the mats with hues that match your picture. If you don't like the colors, try it again and it will select new colors.
Still not quite right? Just move the mouse cursor over your picture and click to "pick up" a color. Click on a mat, the frame or the wall to fill in with that color. Stunning results take only seconds! As you get more advanced, you will appreciate the powerful ability to create your own frame styles. This provides a new level of customization that can lead to a truly unique work of art.

Have
you ever had problems emailing pictures to friends and family?
PhotoFramer can help with its built-in Email features. It will resize your images for you. As you choose different dimensions, PhotoFramer displays the file size and how long it will take your friends to download the picture (based on the speed of their internet connection) so that it is easy to pick just the right size to send.
At any time you can preview the
results. If you like what you see, PhotoFramer
can automatically open your email program* and attaches the picture to it. All
you have to do is address and compose your email text and send it. It is
so easy that some people use PhotoFramer
to send all their pictures - framed or not.
* This requires an MAPI compliant email
program to be set as your default email program. Most popular email
programs such as Outlook and Outlook Express are MAPI compliant.
Unlike paint programs or other framing programs, PhotoFramer does not just draw bitmaps around the edges of your image. Instead, it uses advanced computer graphics techniques to render scalable frames. This has several important advantages:
Frames scale well. If you have a 14 megapixel image that you want to frame at high resolution, PhotoFramer can generate an image of stunning quality to go with the high-resolution image. [compare to bitmaps which often look jaggy when scaled to fit large images]
More control. Because the frame is rendered by the computer, you have complete control of the colors and textures and features of the components of the frames. [compare to bitmaps which are often constrained to predefined colors, textures and features.]
Proportions are maintained. If you create a frame style it will look correct whether you are framing a small image for email or a full resolution image from a high-resolution digital SLR camera. [with bitmap based programs, frames and mats may look strangely thick or thin with small or large images because the frame and mat proportions are defined in terms of pixels instead of being relative to the image size.]
